How does the AI grading work?
Agent GRaiL analyzes the front and back images of each eBay listing using a trained image classifier. It scores surface condition, centering, corners, and edges — then outputs a BUY, REVIEW, or PASS recommendation with a confidence score. It's designed to identify raw cards likely to grade PSA 8 or higher.
How accurate is the AI?
The classifier was trained on thousands of graded card images across PSA 8, 9, and 10 outcomes. It performs best on standard sports cards (baseball, basketball, football). Accuracy varies by card condition and image quality — always review BUY recommendations before purchasing.
What is a scan, and what happens when they run out?
One scan = one AI analysis of a single card image. Each eBay search result uses one scan when classified. When your monthly quota is reached, you can still search and browse — you just won't get AI scores until the next billing cycle or you upgrade.
Does it work for all sports and card brands?
Yes — the AI works on any card image regardless of sport or brand. It's been tested on baseball, basketball, football, and Pokemon. Performance is best on clean card photos; heavily stylized or very low-res images may reduce accuracy.
Is my eBay data private?
Yes. We use eBay OAuth — you authorize read access only and we never see or store your eBay password. Your collection, P&L, and search data are private to your account and are not sold or shared with third parties.
